CPNI (Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure) provides protective security advice and assures a wide range or physical security products for use on the UK’s critical national infrastructure (CNI). For approval, the products are tested for a long period of time under stringent criteria.

The fibre-optic perimeter intrusion detection system FD322, which detects people climbing over, crawling under or cutting through a fence, was tested by the CPNI and passed all the criteria for approval. The system’s durable fibre-optic sensor is unaffected by chemical or electrical elements in the environment including corrosion, EMI and lightning strikes. Each alarm process unit (APU) is made up of two fully independent zones,  supporting 500 metres of sensible cable each.
