The Fiber SenSys Model FD348R integrates with Lenel’s OnGuard® access control security system

HILLSBORO, Ore., December 6th, 2012 — Fiber SenSys (FSI) today announced that it has received Lenel® factory certification and joined the Lenel OpenAccess Alliance Program (OAAP).  The FSI Fiber Defender™ Model FD348R integrates with the OnGuard® access control system and allows monitoring of the FD348R alarm processing unit (APU) using Lenel OnGuard.

“Fiber SenSys has completed required factory testing at Lenel to validate the functionality of its interface to OnGuard. FSI customers with FD348R APUs can benefit by allowing OnGuard to monitor the perimeter security of their site.  For existing OnGuard users, this presents FSI’s FD348R APU as a fiber-optic perimeter security option,” said Gidon Lissai, director, strategic alliances, Lenel Systems. “We look forward to their continued involvement in the Lenel OpenAccess Alliance Program.”

“Designed for remote deployment with no power or communications needed in the field, the FD348R rack-mounted APU provides location independence for the Lenel OnGuard equipment by utilizing insensitive fiber-optic cable in addition to sensing fiber.  The use of insensitive lead-in cable allows the APU to be located up to 20 kilometers away from the protected perimeter zone and provides maximum integrated system design flexibility,” said Edward Tapanes, CEO, FSI.
