The single-mode fiber in a data network deployment (PDS, passive or active optical network) becomes sensitive when used with the Fiber Sensys Single-Mode Activator (SMA) and the FD34x Alarm Processor Units (APU's). This product combination is used to alarm single-mode segments in an active fiber network, a passive optical network (PON), or a protected distribution system (PDS).
